This Jet Sweep pedal car was produced by AMF in the 1960s and was refurbished approximately 25 years ago. The steel bodywork is finished in green with white accents, and features include red and white steel wheels, solid rubber tires, a silver-painted steering wheel, and twin foot pedals. This Jet Sweep pedal car was purchased by the seller a month ago and is now offered at no reserve in Howell, New Jersey, on a bill of sale.
This pedal car was produced by the Junior Toy Division of American Machine & Foundry of Olney, Illinois. The steel bodywork has been refinished in green with white side graphics and “Jet Sweep” script. The bumpers and faux grille are painted silver.
Red-and-white-painted steel disc wheels are wrapped in solid rubber tires. Bright hubcaps are fitted all around.
The unpadded body-color seat sits aft of a silver-painted steering wheel with a red hub.
The wheels are driven by twin foot pedals, which also provide braking input when back-pedaled.
Photos of the refurbishment are included.
